1. Is this your first experience of authoring a book? What inspired you?
Yes, this is my first book and I’m incredibly excited about the prospect of sharing my knowledge, skills and experience in Alfresco with a much larger audience – the worldwide Alfresco community.

2. Who should read this book and why?
If you are a new Alfresco developer and exploring web scripts in Alfresco, then this book would be very useful to you. It will help you establish a strong foundation in implementing Alfresco web scripts. If you are an experienced developer with knowledge of Alfresco basics but haven’t fully explored the web script framework, then this book is for you. If you have already explored this topic in the past, then you will find this book as a quick and handy reference for complex implementations.

3. What were your learnings during the writing process?
The entire book writing experience is essentially a summation of my implementation experiences with diverse clients. Writing a book on web scripts is completely different from working with web scripts in a project. When I was initially asked to write a book on Alfresco, I recalled my days as a beginner and identified everything that would be helpful to a new Alfresco developer to scale the learning curve quickly and at the same time, benefit experienced developers as well. Web scripts is a vast subject and structuring the book was truly challenging. However in this book, I have ensured that all the necessary aspects are covered in such a way that readers get maximum understanding and both new and experienced developers can benefit from the book.

4. You have been actively contributing to Open Source community via blogs, forums and books authoring. What are the motivating factors that keep you going?
Alfresco community has been a great community. When I started working with Alfresco as a newbie, I always looked for answers on forums and blogs from other experienced members of the community. Even a small amount of assistance used to go a long way. I felt that I should give back to the community as well. Today, I find myself in a position to share my experience and knowledge on Alfresco and truly follow the spirit and philosophy of Open Source – which is ‘Sharing one’s experience and inspiring more developers and organizations to adopt Open Source tools’. I have made a humble attempt to emulate my predecessors with this book.

5. Tell us something about your current projects and assignments.
Presently, I am working as a lead consultant and I am involved in designing and implementing the Alfresco solutions to help clients address their business needs with Alfresco Platform.
