It was a great fun and proud feeling to be a part of worldwide celebration of Drupal 7 Release Party. I attended the one at CIGNEX, Ahmedabad about which Dries twitted a day before on 6 Jan 2011. Although signups for the event almost reached a CENTURY, not all people turned up for the event, yet around 70 attendees were there at CIGNEX, Ahmedabad, D7RP. Few people traveled to the event all the way from Surat (6 Hrs drive by road), from Anand (2 Hrs drive by road) to be a part of Drupal 7 release celebrations.

Drupal is a well known content management system. I would rather see Drupal as a collaborative tool to almost anything on web. Drupal ranges through mere a content display tool to advertising website, blogging platform, e-commerce application, file management, user management, multilingual content, mobile application, event management platform and what not. Drupal also expands itself to well defined custom made products, known as Drupal profiles. These profiles are nothing but group of well mingled Drupal modules to serve particular purpose or a business need. 

The pillars of Drupal's text handling are filters and input formats. A filter is a set of rules that can be applied to transform text in some way and an input format is an ordered collection of filters. Any text that is being displayed to the browser should be run through the filters in an input format first.
