CIGNEX believes that in order for open source projects to flourish, companies need to participate in co-creation rather than mere consumption. CIGNEX has a strong connection to the open source community, actively participating in and contributing to several leading open source projects. Our goal is to increase the adoption of open source solutions by supporting the success of enterprise-class open source implementations.
 
Goldegg One Initiative
CIGNEX founded and funded the open source Goldegg One initiative, which focuses on bringing a small but critical amount of Zope 3 technology into the next releases of CMF and Plone. To learn more, please visit www.goldeggstack.org
 
PLONE Live Book
CIGNEX sponsored two of its employees, Munwar Shariff and Michel Pelletier, on a project to create a book that provides the most comprehensive treatment on development using Plone. CIGNEX also partnered with an innovative publisher, Sourcebeat, to create a Plone Live, a book that will stay current for at least 12 months. This was a six-month project for Munwar and Michel and the book was released in May 2005. In July 2005, CIGNEX launched a promotion to give away about 500 Plone Live books to developers involved in serious Plone development projects. Hundreds of books were given away in support of Plone projects. Our hope is that we will hear many success stories soon.
 
Bay Area JBoss User Group
CIGNEX is the founding sponsor of the Bay Area JBoss Users Group (BAJBUG). We worked with JBoss Corporation from conception to creation of the group, which meets at CIGNEX corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.
