Availability : 15-30  days

Shift : 2.00pm to 10.00pm

Desirable Experience

  • Has a good understanding of CICS
  • Has some experience of zLinux and Linux
  • Strong experience SMP/E, zOS TSO, IBM Utilities, JCL
  • 7-9 year’s experience
  • At least 5 years’ strong experience of supporting and maintaining an MQ environment which will include MQ Appliances, MQ Series (Mainframe. Windows and Linux environments) and MQ Queue Sharing.

  • 2.00pm to 10.00pm
  • Participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support is required
  • Must be willing and available for project and maintenance activities outside normal working hours, as needed
  • Flexibility to meet business needs as required

Job Description

  • We are looking for a person who has experience of managing, maintaining and supporting the MQ environment. This involves installing, customizing, and maintaining MQ products.  Individuals in this position are also responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with MQ and working directly with software vendors to resolve the problems.
  • The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organized, have excellent communication skills and be an IBM Z advocate. We are looking for a strong candidate who will engage and collaborate within a team of globally dispersed staff member.

Job Responsibilities 
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure platform availability is maintained to the highest possible standard.
  • Define new IBM MQ components in support of application or infrastructure projects
  • Update and maintain IBM MQ queue managers
  • Execute infrastructure changes to IBM MQ components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IBM MQ incidents, issues and problems
  • Assisting with the installation and maintenance of mainframe MQ software products
  • Provide project consultation to applications teams; assist in the design and development of IBM MQ solutions
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support;
  • Be available for project and maintenance activities outside normal working hours, as needed
  • Takes ownership and accountability to ensure the MQ architecture is in line with new version releases / security patches from IBM.
  • Strong experience SMP/E, zOS TSO, IBM Utilities, JCL
  • Build partnerships with the business to support and deliver MQ requirements as required in a timely manner.
  • Takes accountability of issues arising and effectively undertakes root cause analysis to resolve and minimize business impact.
