Business Need

Client was using Liferay-based intranet developed by New Jersey-based consulting company and hosted it with Liferay-certified hosting provider. The site was LIVE for over a year with following critical performance and stability issues
  • Slow performance
    • Page load time over 70s when accessing from retail outlets on a 256kbps connection
    • Page load time varied from 10s to as much as 60s when accessed within the premise
  • Lack of stability
    • Intranet had to be restarted on a daily basis
    • Intranet unresponsive at 80-100 concurrent users


After evaluating various Liferay partners, the client engaged CIGNEX for a 3- week assignment comprising performance assessment and tuning consulting services.
